5. Coming in fifth is The Mayflower Hotel. It’s a historic staple of Washington DC & some of you may be wondering why in the world is it in fifth then. We’ll get to it…in a second. What we love: the details and design ! Every space is beautiful & stunning. This allows your bridal hairstylist & makeup artist to get the most gorgeous shots of your bridal hair & makeup without distracting decor or off-putting colors. Oh & if you’re photographer takes getting ready photos I’m sure they' will appreciate too!. The lighting is nice but it’s best when you have a larger suite especially a wedding suite. Which is the only downside… if you don’t reserve a suite with a large sq ft then it can be a cozy. We don’t mind but you should know.

4. Next up is Omni Shoreham in Northwest DC. Have y’all seen the bridal suite there? It’s STUNNING! A literal dream for any wedding hair or makeup artist. We’re talking ample space, flat services, outlets & lighting. All the rooms are pretty great but the “bridal suite” is absolutely fantastic. You’ll actually have a view overlooking DC & depending on the season the foliage can add some nice details. I will warn you to make sure you don’t get an interior room with no windows. It’s only happened to us once but wasn’t fantastic by comparison.

3. The InterContinental Williard, right across from the White House on Pennsylvania Ave. You could be waking up on your wedding day morning sharing coffee vibes with the president… kinda. Why do we love this hotel so much? Like the others the space is incredible. Great lighting , flat surfaces, outlets & flow. We can doing everyone’s wedding hair & makeup but not be in the way ( even a little) because of the flow. The wedding suite is a corner unit so you have so much incredible lighting & several windows that works well for large parties & teams not to mention options for your photographer. The other reason we love the space? The valet! I know this sounds silly but when we need to get in there to get everyone ready we don’t need to tracking down the valet person to hand off the keys. They are always friendly, speedy and professional.

2. Up next is The Line Hotel. It’s bespoke to its core. Yes it’s well designed, bright airy lighting, ample space & flat surfaces . All the logistics we’ve already mentioned check out but The Line feels boutique. There’s all sorts of special details layered throughout the hotel that take the experience to the next level. Layering textures, colors and art so that it’s full of personality. If you like luxe but bold personality this is for you ! Also there’s coffee, a restaurant & lounge space in the hotel that are also entirely boutiquey . It’s great for your wedding morning so no one from the wedding party needs to go far for coffee in-between hair & makeup.

1.DRUM ROLL PLEASE! Coming in first is The Four Seasons Hotel. All the above rings true. Their space ( especially their wedding suite) is beautifully crafted with clear attention to detail so you have a wonderful experience . As a bridal hair & makeup team we appreciate when these details have been thought through so that we can provide our best beauty services as well. Here we can. So why #1? There is a sense that everything is take care of. A sense of security & calm. It is something we try to bring for our couples so when the hotel does so as well we’re all just starting on the same serene vibe.

Now, don’t be disappointed if your hotel isn’t on this list. There’s SO many incredible hotels to get ready in & we can’t make an endless list. This is our way to spotlight a few & so even if you’re not staying with any of them there are elements you can consider when choosing yours such as lighting & outlets.
